Actually I believe those would be spiritual birds. Or maybe
those are Abe's soul, as they regroup in another region to
form his physical self again.
The birds also form bird portals. Sometimes you see them fly
out of portals when Abe has freed enough mudokons, and
they circle him and absorb into his body to give him the power
of Shrykull.
