I do say, this is dusty
*blows off dust*
Part 2
We went hiking into the woods. it was pretty quiet. I'd try sparking up a conversation here and there, but they died down pretty quickly. When it started getting dark, We went into a nearby cave. Stranger had to check it for creatures though, which he drew out with his cross bow and variety of live ammo. We set up camp and started to go to sleep. But I just couldn't sleep. Stranger didn't snore, he was too stealthy. It was just that something was keeping me awake. Something like a weird drum beat. I got up and grabbed a piece of wood and stuck it into the fire to use as a torch. I walked around the cave, searching for the source of the weird drumming until I came around the corner and saw a long cave corridor leading deeper and deeper into the cave. Curiosity got the best of me and I went deeper into the corridor. The drumming got louder as I went along and that was very cliche but I was too caught up in the moment to care. I walked and walked down that corridor for what seemed like hours before finally walking into a small cavern. Almost suddenly I was struck by awe. All over the walls were tons of ancient carvings. I don't know how long I stood there. It was awesome. I felt a sharp pain in my hand and dropped the torch, realizing how far it had burned up. When it hit the floor the light flickered down for a moment and then died. I stood in the pitch black, suddenly wondering how I'd get back. I realized that the drumming had quit a while back and that I should start feeling my way back to the camp.
I blindley started feeling my way around when all of a sudden, I noticed a bit of light flickering on the walls. I turned around and looked down to where I dropped my torch. it was sparking. I didn't know what was happening. Then all of a sudden, the sparking charcoal burst into blue flames. I stood there, looking at it, confused by what was happening. I heard the drumming coming back, louder and louder then ever before, as the blue flame started rising into the air, eating away the last of the coal. Then, as it was about eye level with me, I started noticing a pair of eyes rolling around from the back. The best way to describe this thing was a blue version of Calcifer from the movie version of Howl's moving castle. I stepped away from it and started to run.
"STOP!!" Yelled a voice, which I could only guess came from the flaming orb. I wanted to run, but I really couldn't. My legs were stuck, my arms were stuck. I was trying to move when I noticed I was being lifted into the air. Panicking, I was turned around, and floated over to the Calcifer copy.
"JUST WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE BREAKING INTO MY SACRED SANCTUM?" He bellowed in my face.
"Uh..." I started, regaining my composure, "I didn't exactly break in..."
"SILENCE!!!" he yelled, "YOU WILL SPEAK WHEN SPOKEN TO!!"
This was getting old. Fast.
"YOU WILL RESPECT MY..." He began, but I wasn't going for that.
"I WAS SPOKEN TO!!!" I yelled. He looked shocked. His face returned to his snarl and he continued.
"THAT'S NO REASON TO INTERRUPT...wait, what are you anyway?" he looked at me with a very confused look.
"What, me? What am I? I am a human"
"wait," he said, "a human, huuuman?" he said, inching toward my face.
"What about it?" I asked.
"Wait, it's here somewhere," he said, flying around the cave, obviously looking for something. "Ah HA!" he said, flying back to me with a scroll in his telepathic control. He opened it, and showed me the contents.
I saw a bunch of gibberish.
He must've seen something more, cuz he was all flying around me, all excited like.
"This is amazing, Truly amazing!" he was ecstatic.
"What's amazing?" I asked. He stopped, and looked at me.
"Why, the end of the world of course!" he said, with a big grin on his face.
"and...you're happy about that? I asked, wondering how crazed this pyro was.
"Now I am!" he said. still bouncing all over the place.
"Why?" he said.
"Cuz you're here!" he said very happily.
"What!?" I said, astonished on what I heard.
"Well," he said, on the verge of yelling for joy, "It says here that near the end of all that is Odd, when the rabid shepard is killed, a being not of Odd shall come and redeem the planet." I couldn't believe my ears. I, of all people, would be chosen to save Oddworld. Sure that may sound ego-tistical, but it's the truth.
