OOC: It's come to my attention (or rather, I've had worries and they have been confirmed) that some of my characters are getting to be too powerful. This will be remedied soon.

Fisher stood from his seat in Slade's office, made a perfunctory farewell, and returned to the spot by the lake.
Everyone had gone. Well, except that cat Akky.
Fisher sighed. He could lend Akky a hand. He was at least trying to help.
"Hey! Cat! Do you, perchance, know where everyone has disappeared to?"

Streak was thinking to herself. It seemed to her that her only use was fixing problems. And what's worse was she had to use her powers to do it. She hated being forced to do it. But ... it was one thing if there was no alternative. And was there no alternative in this case? She doubted it. There had to be a way other than brute force.
The way she saw it, these DCO folks would only be after people like her and Blaze. Maybe Kix and Krisha, too. If they wanted to, they could try and pass off Kaira and the cats as normal animals ... though a tigress in the back of a car could be hard to explain.
Art: "I'm willing to bet that they aren't as interested in you two cats as they are interested Streak or Blaze."
Streak nodded: "Look, I'm impressed that you'd offer to turn yourselves in to buy us more time, but if I turned myself in, it might mean no more trouble for you guys."
Art coughed. "That's not exactly what I was saying ...."
Streak: "Never you mind. I've decided. I'm going."
Blaze: "Uh ... have you forgotten that Charger is still in there? If you disappear on us, how can we hope to get him out?"
Streak: "How can you all keep counting on me to get you out of a jam? That's not the way things are. I don't like having to patch up our troubles. I'm grateful to you for getting me out of Fisher's hands, but that doesn't mean you can use my powers like your own personal toys. Like, camping equipment was one thing, but guns and weapons are another. There has to be another way. And I say that if I turn myself in, I'll probably be able to get him out myself."
Blaze: "No, you won't, because you'll be in the same boat as Charger is."
Art: "No, Blaze, I think I see what Streak is saying. These guys more than likely have a full profile on all of us. Except the kid, I guess. The point is, they likely know what Streak can do, and will probably try and use her to their advantage. And when they hand her the paper and pen ..."
Streak: "I can get us out and away."
Dave: "Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you say earlier that you couldn't do that?"
Streak: "I did, but the situation has changed. Then, there were alternatives. Now, there aren't."
Blaze: "Then why not just do it now?"
Art pointed out the front window, where the helicopter was circling around to face them. It began to land. Art stopped the car.
Art: "Because the helicopter is landing, and if they get suspicious, we're probably in huge trouble."
Streak nodded. "Okay, guys, this is it."
Streak climbed out of the car and stood in wind kicked up from the spinning helicopter blades, raising her hands.
