Ideally, they should've had hints of Apocalypse throughout the trilogy (so in the first one something in Egypt was discovered - and you hear this on the news or something. In the second Xavier senses something etc). So at the end with the big fight, Magneto could've been stopped (presumably killed), but then after the credits (or, say, in the middle of them) it cuts to a scene with Magneto crawling out of some rubble. You then see a pair of large legs stood in front of him and as the camera pans up you get a half a second glimpse of Apocalypse.

I really want to watch it again. I'll have a clearer understanding about the story and I can focus on what happens, pick up any points that I (and probably most of us) missed.
