I've always considered Shakespeare to have the worst grasp of the English language I've ever seen in an author.

Well his advantage is that when he got bored, he could just make up a word and it would be included into the lexicon immediately. For eg: lackluster, epileptic, puking and rant. And, depending who's counting 1700 to 2000+ other words.
