"I'm surprised someone of your status was able to be stopped by a mere gun, but that's beside the point. I have stated how things were from my point of view and I have nothing more to add."
Fisher was outraged. He was about to argue that Slade didn't understand the situation. Fisher knew that the boy had a wider and more involved influence in person than one would think, and clearly more than Slade was giving the boy credit for. The boy was probably all the more powerful since he had no knowledge of his skill to muddle up the use of his power.
But before Fisher could verbalize all this ... Slade paused for a moment, then held up a hand, "Hold on, I have a feeling you may be interested in this."
He turned slightly and a shadowy form of Olivia appeared on the other side of his desk.
"Slade ... (etc. etc. etc.) ... What would you have me do?"
Fisher noted that Slade had turned to him for a response. He contemplated briefly, and began to speak hesitatinly. "Under no circumstances is the boy - David - to be harmed. If you can find a way to bring him here, it would be ideal. But as things stand, he is too well protected."
An answer came to Fisher then, all at once. Maybe not the answer, but an answer all the same.
"We need to remove his friends. The tiger people and those cats and that eagle and that scruffy guy. I don't care how it's done, but our targets should be his party. Without them to come to his rescue, the boy will be vulnerable."

Art gave Kaira a nervous look. "We'll have to take a trip back to The Community."
Streak looked confused. "Which community?"
Blaze: "Belive it or not, that's the name of the town Charger had been living near when I met him. But there's not much left of it."
Art was shaking his head. "I didn't mean to The Community itself ... What I mean to say is the DCO offices are near The Community. We'll have to get on the road soon. I doubt I can will myself to fly that plane again."
Blaze: "Thank God for small favors."
