Dave, now on Pseok's back, was preparing himself for yet more flight. "Pseok, I need to try something. I want you to fly me near where Fisher is. I want to try and shoot him. I think he's afraid of me."

The fireball struck Punch on his snout. Marsilander's have no concept of humor, but if they did, Punch would have laughed. He didn't the the Mean Cat knew that fire didn't harm him. After all, his species had evolved to harbor self-igniting fluids inside their bodies.
But this attack made Punch more aware of the Mean Cat's abilities. A smaller marsilander would have run away, but Punch stood his ground.
His next bite would have to be more of a slobber than a bite. Punch ignored the fact that the cat had produced fire and thought that he might be able to use his own fire to combat the Mean Cat. It was his only weapon, after all.
He lunged towards the Cat, meaning to bit on it's front leg, hoping to drool a bit on it.
Fisher had reappeared near Daniel after the fireball safely passed. He looked around and saw that the boy had mounted that damned eagle, and that something - presumably one of those cats - was generating some sort of barrier.
Fisher pointed at it, meaning to blow up the cat responsible, simultaneously terrorizing the boy, the eagle, and the other cat ... but instead, the barrier emitted a dull flash, and nothing happened.
"Dammit," Fisher muttered. Powerful magic was afoot, and Fisher was most displeased to know that it was not his own. "David! Come here now! I swear, no harm will come to you."
