I used to like to go into a mosh pit when I was into heavy metal a lot more than I am now. But I have avoided them since about 7 years ago. I was at a festival and the mosh pit was a little too hectic than I was used to. I think it was only into the first song of the band playing [it was Hole I think] and I found myself on the ground. Quite a scary experience, probably the scariest of my life. I was stuck on the ground for about 20 seconds with people moving frantically above me. It was hard to breathe and I didn't know what was going to happen. Thankfully a group of guys helped me and pulled me back up
Same reason I avoid wave pools.
If it's any consolation, I enjoy real ocean waves that are about 4 times as dangerous.
