Goresplatter, that's not true. You can get everything you need from veg. The problem is that meat contains everything you need (it's protein) where as each veg only contains certain amino acids (which make up protein). Therfore, you need to eat complimentary veg at each meal so that your body can make protein from the assortment of amino acids. Also, I think you need more energy to make protein from veg than to convert from meat... but that probably isn't true.
