There was a topic about this moon a long time ago, but I can't find it now. It does look slightly palmate, but I don't think it's Abe's Moon. The ‘fingers’ are really fat, and it just isn't Mudokon-paw shaped, to be honest. It's either a random pattern (a pareidolia) or something else.
Used, I love that idea so much. The practicality of it is a bit off, though.
Maybe Mudokon story stones (thinking in particular about the spherical Necrum ones, presumably older) are actually based off the moon. That might actually mean Mudokons have long had knowledge that moons are spherical bodies, not just flying disks.
