If said child did in fact make such an accusation, I'd imagine that it would be the family situation that drove her to the way she was. If it was truly your kid and the situation was the same; chances are you wouldn't give a damn what she was doing, and that's why she acted out.

2) Mayella Ewell did not "do a bad deed," it was her father who raped her, not tom Robinson. What bad thing she did do was lie about the entire event but there were extreme circumstances at the time.

Didn't Mayella later make a move on Tom? I haven't read it in four years, but I'm pretty sure that, according to Tom's testimony, Mayella tried to take advantage of Tom.
I never did manage to pull that one off.
