I always assumed they had a skull, and a sheet of cartelage that wrapped around their organs, and maybe a little spongey pad on their bottoms to allow them to hop.

That's a pretty good anatomical prediction you got brewin' there, Matt. Unfortunately I can't find any fuzzle prod art to form my own theory.
