No, it was specially written by OWI for their own games. I mean, have you seen any games out there that have a gameplay mechanic even remotely similar to gamespeak?
And A.L.I.V.E. was used in AE. I didn't mention it because it was the same engine from AO, tweaked to have more capabilities.
