Perhaps they would be able to accept a joke about Mohammed. But depicting him as a terrorist is just plain offensive to moderate Muslims (extremists may well be happy that The Prophet is sharing their career path). And besides it's not just the joke. It's the fact that they should never have depicted Mohammed at all.

Adder makes a fine point. Back in 1999 there was this photographer who had an exhibition in Melbourne. One of the photos was a crucifix (with Jesus) lieing in a bucket of urine. So obviously Christian groups were upset by this. I couldn't personally see the problem until a teacher told me to imagine it done to a symbol that I hold dearly. It's the same thing with Uluru (Ayers Rock) - the Aborigines discourage people from climbing it because it is sacred to them. So I imagine what I would feel if someone set up a tourist site abseiling off the Western Wall in Jerusalem and I would be pretty damn pissed off. So if I were to go to Uluru now, I wouldn't climb it.
