The only problem with that is, that part of the bible was the instructions for the JEWS, not the christians. As you know, Kosher Jews can't eat many things, as they are "an abomination unto them" etc.
But the fact is, that the bible was dreamed up and written by Jews who lived in this bizarre and backwards society that had frankly autistic cultural eating habits. So hardly suprising then that it should contain many things that don't make much sense in today's modern world.
