man, you guys make me feel old....

I wish i had Oddworld when i was 6. I imagine it seeming much more magical at that age. Although, Abe's Oddysee DID come out during my high school period of pot smoking so it was still pretty magical for me......
It can have its downsides too.

I first saw AO when I was around 7 or so (I really can't remember). My mothr and i would go into Circuit City from time to time (back in the happy days). And I would always go aroudn the game section, I found Abe's Oddysee on the shelf and immediately fell inlove with the scrabs, paramites and all the other characters on the box. I kept nagging and nagging my mother to buy it for me for some period of time, and she finally did. The opnly problem was when I played it for the first time, I got the shit scared out of me and I turned it off after about an hour of gameplay. I tried several times to get past the first nonsecret electric gate on the first level (I even went through lengths to get the start guide to help me), but alas, I could never surpass. I eventually learned that I needed to posess the slig sleeping, only problem was I always killed it somehow.

About six years later I played MO at a party and loved it, I got re-addicted to the oddowlrd universe and would go on oddworld dot com almost everyday. Then, when I was rummeging through my immanse pile of pc games, I stumbled upon old Abe's Oddysee and decided to download it on my computer (the original comp which I used had long been thrown out). After about two days of gametime and working witht he start guide, I got passed the first level with saving most of the muds and visiting the secret areas. Now I am stuck on the scrabanian temple.

In the early summer of 2005 I sought to bring a copy of AE into my hands. I searched with gusto on numerous online sources for a copy and then I found one on Amazon. I ordered it, and a few days later it came to the post office. And about four weeks and 200 cans of cola later, I finished the game.

Then I found this place.
