NE who, not all the industrial products are harmful. I mean look at Zap! and Expresso, those were quite helpful. Yet one does have to wonder at what expense-i.e. what creatures were used to make them.
As for what the original topic about Doc, just put yourself in his shoes. People are settling in new and dangerous areas in the west. There are working hazards building the settlements,outlaws running amuck, hostile natives, and the enviroment itself ( I wouldn't be surprized if a clakker had gotten himself squished by a boulder Wile E Coyote style). Since this is a new area that is being tamed, there are few, if any, who would start a business in that area until the population is ripe and stable enough. Ergo no competition( hike up those prices baby!) and a steady stream of "patients". If there were other doctors in the area Doc would have not asked for so much moolah. Stranger would have asked someone else. Where ever Doc came from we may never know but why he was in the west is quite obvious.$$$$$
