1.) Glukkons are a "Super-species." That is to say that they, like Ants and Bees, have one female who is a queen of sorts, and everyone else is either male of sexless. In species such is this, it is not uncommon for the female to be extremely different looking that the rest, nor is it different to be larger.
2.) That's concept art, so I don't really think we need to worry about that.
3.) Actually, she is supported not by a crane, but by enslaved Kintos, which are bread specificly to carry her around on their backs (There's an image available in Art of Oddworld in the Munch's Oddysee section). She's too important and "Regal" to crawl on the ground like the rest of us. I image she lives in a comfortable status, to which she has become accustomed (See's the Oddworldian equivolent of Dale "The Whale" Biderbeck).
