That would be one of the poorest decisions Lorne could have made with Stranger. For one- Abe and Munch have nothing to do with Stranger or the Steef. Abe's busy saving the Mudokons and Munch needs to repopulate his species. Sounds like the two have their hands full, they don't need some other guy's fate added to the list.

Second of all, Munch wouldn't really be able to do much of anything useful except help Stranger later on in the river. Munch is pretty fucking useless on land, and a pathetic fighter (he can't even attack someone without the aid of a damn softy drink or an army of fuzzles). Abe himself is a clutz and would most likely give away their positions before they even had a chance to attack the Outlaws.

No, Abe and Munch have no place in Stranger's plight, and never will. I know you have a chubby for the two, and that you seem to place Abe and Munch at the center of the Oddworld Universe for some reason, but let's face the obvious: it will NEVER happen. They've just two characters, they aren't the only heroes on Oddworld.
