Yes we do know. They are not the same character. Full stop. There is no reason why they should be the same character. If Humphrey were still alive, he'd still be in charge of the Vykker's Labs corporation so I'm sure he would just move over to one of the other labs.

Well Stranger didnt like the fact that Sekto was draining all the water that the natives needed, and after all, they were helping Stranger by giving him better suites and weapons.

But they hadn't helped him at that point and he didn't care about them at all. Remember - he only helped them at first in order to get the Steef-boat.
