The Noctero have several sub-species, just like dogs, cats, or any other animal for that manner. However, they see these physical differences not as different species, but as seperate tribes. The three main tribes the comic focuses on are the Astinti;
Pteronocturnus astintii (Actra's tribe), the Naroskiti;
Pteronocturnus naroskitii (short, gangly, Gollum-like creatures), and the Kerrotoss;
Pteronocturnus kerrotossidae (huge, brutish creatures with underbites).
