Yeah, I heard about this a while back as well. They're only going to be hurting themselves by doing that. In other words, like others have said, economic suicide.
I happen to rent games and buy used ones sometimes, so it looks like I won't be buying a PS3 unless they get that fixed (which I'm sure they won't.). You know, I've also heard about the exploding PS3 rumor.....no joke.
Edit: Or was that the Xbox 360?? I'm not sure, but I heard about one of them being defective.
