OMFG 2ND CHAPTER ALERT


Chapter 2: Deron's Retreat

The alley Elezar was walking through seemed to be getting smaller. Further down he had to shimmy sideways in order to fit. He yelled to the stranger, "Hey, where are we going, anyways?" The cloaked figure just stared for a minute, and then started moving again. "You wish to become stronger, am I correct?" Ishtur croaked. Elezar thought for a second. Did he ever say that out loud? "Odd..." He murmured. "I asked a question, fledgeling." The figure growled in an irritated tone. "Yes, I do wish to be stronger!" Elezar blurted out. This demon didn't seem to be the right person to piss off. Elezar' sides were starting to ache from his cramed surroundings. "Are we close to wherever we're going?" He asked. Ishtur's fangs gleamed in the dim lights. "Yes, young one, we are here."

Elezar looked around. All he saw was a wall. "Great." He thought. He was beginning this old man was a drunk, when out of nowhere, a portal came out of the wall. "Follow me, Elezar." Said Ishtur. He then walked into the portal and faded into nothingness. Elezar blinked. The last time he did something like this, it led to a female demon's dressing room, and he'd rather not go through that again. He began to turn around, but he remembered the promise of becoming stronger. He made a loop and ran into the portal and felt his body slowly melting away to another place.

Elezar's eyes opened to reveal a demon outpost. He looked arond and saw trees and rocks. "Where am I?" He wondered aloud. "We are in the aboveworld, in Axur Forest. This is Deron's Retreat, a Demon Outpost." Replied a voice from behind him. Elezar turned to see Ishtur, and an unfamiliar figure next to him. Elezar squinted and saw a huge figure. It's body was made up of a slug-like slime with dozens of spider-like legs at the base. Above it was the trunk of the demon, a muscular torso with four bulky arms, and a head which was covered in a metal mask, and below it was the creature's mouth, complete with six tusks and a tongue steaming with acid. Ishtur pointed to it and said, "Elezar, meet Deron the swordmaster. He runs this camp and is an excellent leader and warrior. For many years humans have tried to destroy this foothold, but none have succeded."

Deron turned to Ishtur and spoke to him in an ancient tongue. "Brakesh gur'zul nektal borzool! Goptar wek bengur felzulg!" "Yes, Deron, this is the one. I know he looks pathetic at the moment, but he will be of some use. I can feel it." Ishtur explained. Deron looked at Elezar and then leaned down close to him. Elezar could smell the stench of rotting corpse and death on the creature's maw. The burly creature extended an appendage. Elezar shakily took the creature's tentacle into his claw and shook it. "Uh....Greetings?" Elezar sqeaked.

"Now," Said Ishtur. "You say you wish to be stronger. We can help you, Elezar, but first you must do something for us." "What must I do?" Elezar questioned. "Bakdol!" Barked Deron. He pointed to a grove far from the camp. "You must got here and brave the elves, Elezar. There you will find a talisman of power. If you bring it back, you will be rewarded." Said Ishtur. Elezar exhaled. "Elves, huh? I will not fail you, masters!" He started running. Ishtur called to him, "The spiders are your allies, Elezar! Remember that!"

Deron watched Elezar run towards the mouth of the woods. He then turned to Ishtur and grunted, "Bareesh tukal fordrelo grantz?" "Yes, do believe he is capable. He has a lot of potential, Deron. You'll see." Croaked Ishtur. Deron walked away. Ishtur looked around. "And when he's at his full potential, things will change around here." He then showed a toothy smile, and laughed.
