Every year seems pretty much the same as the last to me. The only change seems to be that everything slowly gets a little bit crappier as time goes on, but that's probably more of a mental thing for me than the actual state of things, seeing as how I haven't felt the effect of any natural disasters or federal changes or any such stuff.
I don't find the turning of the year odd. The only reason it really registers with me is that for about three months after the start of the new year, I keep writing the wrong date on all my papers.
I've made resolutions for myself before, but it never really seemed like I had any more incentive to pursue them just because it was a new year, so I no longer take part in that practice.
