T'ain't much, but it's the story...
THE MASK REMOVED, A NEMESIS REVEALED. (cont.)
Stranger was still accelerating, while Umi clung with all her might to stay on his back. Even tears were forming at her eyes.
“It’s too much, Stranger! Slow down! Slow down…” Umi could scarcely speak at the rate of how fast he was going. He heard Umi’s tainted cry, and slowed his pace down. She gasped deeply for air, wiping the tears forming in her eyes.
“You Ok?” he asked. Umi looked up from his back, and nodded shallowly. “Sorry…” he smiled, and trotted fast, but not sprinting. They traveled beside the water’s edge of the Mongo River, also seeing a large facility out in the middle of the river. It was cut in to two parts: One on the far side of the river, and the other on the other side. Towering cranes reached out from each of the facilities, and two guard towers at each side, facing Stranger and Umi. This was going to be a challenge…but they loved a challenge.
“Ok, fellahs! There’s a Steef wanderin’ ‘round the area. And Sekto, the big Cohuna, is payin’ an enormous reward on its head! So if you see’s it, shoot it down!” the master speakers outside the facility shouted with one Wolvark’s loud rumbly voice. They could hear some loud acknowledgments across at both sides of the facility, shouting and hooting at the announcement the Wolvark made. He jumped over a small stream of water trailing out of a barred-off pipe that was built in a small dam, then ran up a small slope, leading up to the main entrance on the open facility. The roof was covered in large and tall crates, different colors. Yellow-skinned, uniformed, ugly creatures patrolled the facility roof, holding similar rifles that the outlaws held back in the Mongo Valley. Snipers were in the guard towers, while regular machine gunners held their ground at the bottom.
“That’s right. The company bar-be-cue is this Saturday, so don’t ferget, it’s BYOB. And check out them new Shock tanks, in stores now,” another Wolvark announced, and then fell silent with a quick screech of feedback. Stranger, who was dying to use his new ammunition, sneaked down by the side of the guard tower, with a ladder leading up to the unsuspecting Wolvark, with a Sniper laser. He loaded on his Super Stingbees, which was a new addition to his pouch, and Bola Blast, a bigger spider, with thorns sticking out of its abdomen and had a red stripe painted on its back as well. The Stingbee had triple-stingers, had four extra blue eyes, and its skin color was a burnt orange. These new ammo types were going to be vicious.
“Stay here, Umi. I’ll be back in a second,” Stranger whispered, and quietly climbed up the ladder to the Wolvark sniper. Its tail faced Stranger, as he crawled up the side, and unlocked his bow. The Wolvark heard a series of clicks, and slowly turned around. But before it could scream out intruder, the Bola Blast spider wrapped up the Wolvark, with exceptional force, nearly dragging it to the brink of falling off the guard tower, and plummeting to the water. He used his bow’s new vacuum to suck up the Wolvark, making the Wolvark ammo chow. He jumped down from the tower and in front of Umi.
