I think the game would have gotten some more recognition if it were put on the PS2 and not be an X-box exclusive >>

Well, it would have gotten more recognition (obviously) if it were on more platforms. But two things make me not think that it would be the only reason:
1) The Xbox is nearly as popular as the PS2 with its Halo franchises and other games.
2) The PS2 can't handle nearly as much ast he Xbox can, and the PS2 version would be either muddled with framerate issues and long load times, horrible graphics compared to its Xbox brother, or a mix of both.
