I don't really have any qualms about eating other people, it seems like a real waste to just let all that meat rot when people all over don't have enough food to eat.

Yes! We eat other animals' meat (generalisation), so I don't see why we should draw the line at horses, whales or even humans. It's all just the flesh of a body. I'm actually surprised by the number of people here who refer to their own corpse as ‘me’ or similar.
