Even though I would much rather be entombed next to my life partner in a spiffy mausoleum deal, being scattered over the green mountains of Appalachia is also rather appealing.

Mmyep, I feel basically the same way. I'd like for my body's final resting place to be beside the one I spent my life with, but I don't like the thought of being buried in the ground for several reasons, so a mausoleum dealio would be great. But my next choice is being scattered into the sea. Maybe somewhere beautiful like the Great Barrier Reef, although my ashes are probably not healthy for the environment.
I'd also never want to be put in an earn to sit on someone's mantel or anything like that because of the exact thing Hobo witnessed.
Oh, one of the most unique things to do with the ashes I've seen is to make a painting with them by mixing them in with paint. That's pretty cool. But still, being cremated and scattered or put into a painting or anything of the like makes me feel lonely because I wouldn't be next to the one I loved. I don't care if you say I'll be dead and it won't matter!
