We use cocaine to make anaesthetising eye-drops for the opthalmic theatre down the corridor from us, and I think a paste for some skin procedures. It's probably the only medicinal use of the drug in the entire UK - so don't worry, we're legal.
Just about. (Diamorphine/heroin we use in syringe drivers for terminally ill patients etc, and the cannabis is in a MS clinical trial. Whee!)
