Okay, I too have some favourite bands:
Good Charlotte*, Linkin Park*, Blink 182, Sum 41, Greenday, Flogging Molly, Breaking Benjamin, RHCP, Thousand Foot Krutch and I do like some songs of Gorillaz, like Feel Good Inc. and 19-2000.
Oh, and Muse and Dream Theater (That better, Fax?)
Although I do like old fashioned rock, like Van Halen and Queen.
I went to a Dutch Ska band recently, during one of them festivals that are organised in my area. The band was Beef! and it was quite alright. Try listening to Late Night Sessions, or Memory Fast Forward.
*So shoot me for it.
Anyways, currently I'm listening to Thousand Foot Krutch' This is a Call.
As for intruments, I play guitar, and I used to sing in a band.
