I can understand a sense of humour in making lighthearted jokes, but when somebody is directly insulting or condescending it's a different matter.
I'd oppose a sexist or elitist remark here like I would anywhere else and point it out. Of course I'll be more hostile when responding to somebody who repeatedly makes the same egotistical remarks post after post.
