I was just talking about "when" and "how" yesterday before I came home and found this thread. Anyway, in answer to when I started on my own, maybe 11 or 12. I had no idea what I was doing or the term(s) for it. I was just curious, but it never felt nice until many years later. For the longest time, it made me feel like I just needed to pee over any other feeling. Mutual started with me love (aww...), when I was about 15 and a half.
Lastly, I agree that spooning is great.
