I have fleas. They're a really major problem. You find one, kill it, then you find another... they lay eggs and walk all over the place, rather than just stay on the freaking cat. Only ever had one or two on myself, but now I'm getting bitemarks show up and they look horrible.
Having a shower doesn't make a difference. You could have a million showers and it wouldn't make a difference. They just hop back on you when you're dry. Of course the majority of the time they're on the cat but still it's amazing just how many actually live in the carpet without anything to feed on. And it's amazing how many of them will hop off a perfectly good cat.
I've gone round the whole house with staykil and nearly gassed myself in the process, so we'll see. The entire house currently smells like a petrol station forecourt, but if it gets rid of these damn fleas then it'll be worth it. But that aside it's driving me nuts.
So with your permission Rich, I'd like to hop on that plane and go with you, so that I may escape these wretched creatures.
