I understand, and yes I do believe that you should only think of your partner. But that is in the ideal world. To be honest, I'd like to only think of my partner. In fact, the imagining of my partner is enough to get me off - but it does get boring. Just as if I were to stroke myself the same way each and everytime. I know that's a horrible comparison, but I think you'll understand.
A bit of healthy imagining shouldn't destroy a relationship unless the person doing it is unstable / unfaithful / etc. I think it is rather -stupid-, and ignorant to think that a person can shut off all attractions to other people while they are in a relationship. Because I'm sure we've all got to know other people who we really like, and could see ourselves with, but are attached to a partner already.
I'd like the ideal world version. But unfortunately I'm stuck with reality...
