Ha! How topical. I was just yesterday dicussing with a friend why men wearing pink had somehow come into fashion.

He reasoned that it came from emo. Such people class themselves as being losers in the eyes of mainstream fashion, so wear pink, a colour obviously associated as something losers would wear, as a testament to their belief that they don't need to be mainstream to be cool.

Trust pink to then enter mainstream fashion.

I have nothing wrong with people wearing pink, but it's irritating that it's simply because of the latest trend. I can't wear pink because it has the same effect on me as red, bringing out the redness of my skin.

I agree, I think we should move away from characterising people by the colours they wear, especially when that characterisation itself is as mean-spirited as classifying people by their sexuality.
