Depends entirely what kind of company you're trying to be. Lorne felt being a developer was sacrificing the creativity he could have realised, and seeing OWI primarily as a creative content company, decided the structure of OWI had to change dramatically, as in all in-house production was ceased, leaving just Lorne and Sherry.
Whether we think that was a good move or not is pretty irellevant. It's difficult to see how a team of people not ‘in tune’ with Oddworld's style and philosophy could produce the same quality of films and games as the OWI we were familiar with, but Lorne is a man of standards, as proven by his work with Ballistic Publishing, and I'm sure only companies he agreed wholeheartedly with would get the chance to apply their artists to the Oddworld franchise - no more ART CO.
