Ok here is chapter 4, hope ya like...
Chapter 4
The Sun was beginning to set as we reached the outer limits of the city and by the time we got to the very end of
the city it was night.
*Sigh*- “Well, we better call it a night, come on we can set up camp once we reach that giant bolder in the distance.”
I waited for a response from Chris but there was only silence. As we walked through the night the only sounds that
could be heard where the insects chirping and the gravel crushing under our feet. The boulder we would camp out at
was still a distance away so I decided to take a glance around at my surroundings. There really wasn’t much to look
at on the ground except for a nearby gas station that we were heading up to and that giant bolder in the
distance where we’d soon be camping so my gaze turned to the stars.
“Ahh, this is beautiful.” I said as I turned my glance to Chris.
“Yeah, sure is.” Chris said as he looked up with me.
From then on there was more silence and I decided to glance at the stars alittle more, that is until we finally
reached the gas station. Although it was dark out I could still tell that it was an old and run-down gas station.
“We should get some supplies.” Chris said as he nodded towards the store.
“Yeah I guess your right.”
With that we all turned and headed into the gas station. As we entered a little bell rang at the top of the doors and a
strange creature turned its view from the T.V to the us.
“Yeah, whaddya want?”said the strange creature.
I had seen several creatures like this when I used to live in the city, they kinda looked like Glukkons except really fat.
“Umm... well could we get some supplies?”
“Just take what you need then give me the money.”
“Ok... thanks, you guys wait here I’ll be right back.”
“Hey, you don’t know what we need. You wait here and we’ll go get the stuff we need, you just watch this guy.”
Chris said as he whispered into my ear.
I watched as Chris and Tom disappeared into the maze of small isles, then I turned my attention to the clerk. He was
back watching T.V and ignoring us so I decided to take a look around also. I noticed that there was a little shelve
with all sorts of small candies on it and as I walked up I started reading all the names that appealed to me.
“ Crunchy Rockz, no... Gummy Guts... Gum Rott-”
My reading was cut short by the reporters voice on the T.V. I quickly dropped the candy turned around just in time
to see three familiar faces on the glowing screen, Me, Chris, and Tom. The clerks jaw dropped once he saw this then
he slowly turned his gaze to me, but all I could let out were nervous chuckles.
“Your them guys on the T.V.!”
“Yeah” I said with a tone of nervousness
“Theres a big reward for the capture of you three, dead or alive!”
By that time Chris and Tom had gotten all we needed and were heading back towards the counter.
“Here ya go.” Chris said as he dumped a huge variety of supplies onto the counter.
But Chris and Tom quickly noticed our familiar faces up on the T.V screen. For a moment there was some silence,
then the Clerk quickly reached under the counter and pulled out a shotgun.
“Now you guys stand there and don’t move”
The Clerk said as he turned around picked up a phone and quickly started dialing the number that was on the T.V
screen. As he was talking to the person on the other line Chris nudged me in my side.
“What?”
I whispered annoyingly. But all he did was point at my Knapsack, but he didn’t have to explain anymore I knew what
he wanted me to do. I silently opened my knapsack and pulled out the syringe we had got from earlier on in the day.
Then as quietly as I could, sneaked up behind the cashier and held the syringe up to his neck point first.
“Drop the phone” I whispered into his ear.
Immediately the cashier dropped the phone and slowly put up his hands. I could hear the persons voice on the other
line as the suspended phone swung freely off the counter. Chris came up behind and pushed the receiver.
“Now why’d you have to go and do that.” Chris said to the clerk
“Should we kill him?” I asked Chris
“I don’t know thats up to you.” Chris said as he walked back to the counter and helped Tom bag our supplies.
As I stood their holding the clerk hostage, Chris and Tom decided to get alittle bit more supplies before we left. As
they searched the store I stuffed the clerk into the broom closet tied him up and gagged him. When we were all ready
I put the syringe back into my knapsack and we all left the store.
Afew hours later we reached the giant bolder and set up camp. As we unpacked I fumbled with putting up my tent
but soon gave up when Chris and Tom offered to set it up for me. Afew more hours later we were all set up and
ready to get a good nights sleep.
“One of us has to keep watch.” Chris told me as I began to crawl into my tent.
“Ok, fine you do it.” I said as I finished crawling into my sleeping bag.
“Yeah, whatever.” Chris said angrily as he climbed up onto a small bolder and looked off towards the city.
The next thing I knew I was waking up to the sound of loud snoring and the urg of really having to go to the
bathroom. I quietly unzipped my sleeping bag and crawled out of the tent expecting to see Chris keeping guard, but I
wasn’t surprised when I saw that he had fallen asleep. I sighed and walked up to the base of the giant bolder where
we were camping. I began to go to the bathroom when, through the darkness I noticed something on the base of the
wall. As I squinted my eyes I realized that they were cave paintings. In awe I began to stare and ponder what they
meant. To me it looked like a map of some kind with some other drawings here and there but yet in had a sense to it
that kept my attention. As I walked down the side of the wall filled with strange lines and shapes I noticed something
at the very end. I ignored all the rest of the paintings as I walked to where the paintings ended. At the end was a hand
print that was strangely similar to mine and for a moment I didn’t know what to think of it but suddenly I began to
raise my hand for no apparent reason and slowly touched the hand print with the tip of my fingers.
Instantly when I did this my arm froze in its place and the paintings began to glow a beautiful yellow light. My hand
began to get more and more stiff as the paintings grew brighter and brighter. Strange little balls of light began to
circle around me then suddenly everything went dark and I was thrown to the ground. Amazed I got up and realized
that my arm was extremely sore. As I got up off the ground my jaw dropped when I saw that my whole left arm had
turned a dark blue color with two white bands around it. I couldn’t understand what had just happened so I went
back to my sleeping bag to think about it, but after time I slowly fell asleep.
