Ok, heres my new story Im working on. My other story "Kites Oddysee" is being postponed for awhile, so I hope you like my new story and tell me what you think.
Becoming a Slave
For the last few weeks it had been raining, day and night. It was strange that it had been raining so much lately since
it never really rained much here. I don’t know why it had been raining so much in the last few weeks but this night it
was raining particularly hard.
“Pompo, get over here!” I shouted as I sat in my favorite chair and looked out the window.
Pompo was one of my more favorite slaves, I guess you could say a friend to me. He was a strong one with a stern
attitude. Even when I told him to do hard laborious work he never complained, he was always quiet and never said a
word. But at times I would question his sanity, sometimes I would walk past him while he was cleaning and I would
hear him talking violently to himself almost as if he had a split personality.
“I have an errand for you.” I quickly said as he approached my chair.
Pompo just stood hovering over me, staring. I looked into Pompo’s eyes and I noticed that tonight they were blank,
like he had no life in him at all.
“Are you O.K.?”
No response.
“Here I want you to go to the Slave house and talk to the owner about buying some new slaves.”
Pompo just stood there staring at me not saying a word.
“You got it? Now heres a whole bag full of money so don’t be afraid of spending too much.”
Pompo looked down at the bag for a second then silently took it from my hand.
“Yes, sir.” he said with a blank look on his face.
Without saying another word Pompo turned with the bag in his hand and left the room. I waited for the front door to
slam, and when it did I looked out the window just in time to see Pompo running towards the slave house in the rain
before he disappeared into the darkness.
“Maybe I should have sent a different slave” I said suddenly having a feeling of regret for sending Pompo.
I got up from my chair and went into the kitchen, when I realized that I’d have to fix my own supper because the
slaves were all sleeping. I quickly disposed of the idea and went to watch TV. As I sat down again and turned on the
TV, I kept thinking of that blank look in Pompo’s eyes. The hours quickly passed by and there was no sign of
Pompo, I began to get worried that Pompo had betrayed me and decided to escape with my money.
Twelve o’ Clock and it was raining even harder than before. At Twelve Thirty, I decided to send a slave out to go
look for Pompo, but just as I got up I heard the front door open then quickly close.
“Pompo.” I said to myself with a sigh of relief.
I quickly walked down the hall to see what new slaves Pompo had brought me. But to my suprise when I reached the
front door there where no slaves, just Pompo.
“Well, where are they?” I asked as I noticed that Pompo’s cloths were torn.
“What happend to your cloths?”
Pompo just looked at me with the same blank, empty eyes that I had seen before he left.
I quickly grabbed Pompo by the shoulders and shook him asking what had happened. But Pompo didn’t say a word,
he just stood there with ragged cloths and bloody scars.
“What happened!”
I shouted angerly trying to get some response from Pompo, but my shouting soon became plea’s for Pompo to tell
me what had happened. Then I suddenly realized something, Pompo didn’t have the bag of money I had given him
earlier.
“Pompo wheres my money!” I shouted in a desperate panick.
All through the night I kept asking and pleading Pompo to tell me what happened to him and my money, but he never
answered me, he just stood there.
“Was he in shock?”
I asked myself, but if he was in shock then what caused it? I kept asking myself that all night. The next thing I
remember was waking up to the sound of loud knocking at my front door. I yawned as I got up and wondered who
could be at the front door. Then I remembered last night, what had happened to Pompo. I quickly found out when I
saw Pompo’s body laying on the floor...dead.
“Pompo!”
I shouted as I dropped to my knees and began crying. I had lost my only friend and with that thought more tear’s
poured from my already soaked eye’s as I remembered all the time’s I had with Pompo, all the times I had with my
friend. As I layed on the floor crying I didn’t notice that the pounding on my door had stopped and that there was
voices calling my name in the hallway.
“Drix!”
I suddenly stopped crying and looked down the hallway, but all I could see where blurry figures heading towards me.
“Drix, you are under arrest for killing Mo, the slave house owner.”
“What?!” I shouted in suprise.
“Hey, boss look at this. Looks like he killed this one too.” I heard a Sligs voice say.
“Take him away.” The other voice shouted.
I could feel somone quickly grab my arm’s and start dragging me down the hall. I kept asking myself how Mo had
died and how come they thought I killed him. But the only answer I could think of was that Pompo had gotten into a
fight with Mo. After all Pompo and Mo did have a strange history that involved one another. As I was being driven
away in a police truck I passed out, but I could still hear the other sligs voices around me.
“Hey boss, he passed out.”
“Good”
After that there was some silence, but after about a minute the two Sligs in the back of the truck with me started
talking again. I ingored most of their converstation but when one of the Sligs said something it caught my attention.
“Yo, boss whadda we gonna do with his slaves”
“What do you mean, they all excaped last night.”
“Oh yea”
I couldn’t belive what I had just heard. How could all my slave escape I was awake most of the night and I always
keep their door locked from the outside at night... unless... Pompo! He must have stolen my key and then let them
free.
“But aren’t we gonna go look for them?”
“Yes, right after we kill him.”
As soon as I heard that my heart stopped and I quickly regained consensness. When they had noticed that I had regained consensness they all looked at me and stopped talking. They where gonna kill me an inosent man! I had to get out of here!
