I too am an industrialist. Give me countryside, quaint cottages, attractive coastline, and I'll be bored out of my mind. Give me chimney stacks, refineries, pipes, machinery, and I'm totally at home. I have no idea why either, it just seems to be a natural attraction, probably as a result of my fascination with anything mechanical.

Pleased to make your acquaintance and whatnot. I'm a pretty heavy stoner so a lot of what I say here is said while I'm totally high on weed.
You should fit in just fine here.
Only thing I might suggest to you is to stop trying so hard and just chill out - settle into it, just let it happen. Your post says to me that you're perhaps a little too eager to make a good impression, and it just looks a little laboured to me. No offense intended here of course, I'm just suggesting that you should perhaps not let yourself get too concerned about acceptance - you'll be more accepted if you don't overdo it and just act normal/take it in your stride.
