A lot of people beleive that you can be brainwashed by subliminal messages, even if you can't understand them at a conscious level.

Yea, i am with you there, but my point is that the backwards message is not
subliminal itself. The message must be understandable in it`s own right to have
any sway on the stream of consciousness.
If the statments were played at low volume, or greatly sped up, or slowed down,
and played under the games audio track, than that would be subliminal.
If your subconscious can take a reversed string of words, played off tempo,
and render the correct meaning, your a better dog than i.
And as for that Judas Priest thing, the trial was about" hidden messages"
not backward recordings.
