What magical land do you live in? One can't do any of those things until at least the age of 18 in the U.S. Except for dropping out of high school thing... you can do that at 17, I think. Actually, the lottery thing may even be 21 in some states.

In the UK. And I don't mean "dropping out of high school". School finishes at 16 in the UK, after which you have college, which is optional. After college you can either go out and get a job, or go to university.

In the UK, you need to be 16 to play the national lottery. There are also certain types of slot machines that you can play at 16. The gay and straight age of consent is 16. Also, smoking is illegal to anyone under 16. At age 16, the law changes the way a criminal act is treated by the police and the courts.
