Abe does refer to Molluck as 'he' but I think it's the easiest thing to call Molluck because he doesn't sound like a female and it wouldn't fit in to the sentence if he called him a-sexual. There is no shortened word to use for an a-sexual creature (I think), like a male is a he... and well you know the rest.
