Here's the first chap..
Chapter 1
Three sligs walked down the corridor nervously. They knew the dangers of these halls, but even more so since one particular crossbreed escaped the labs 2 years ago. This crossbreed didn't just stop at just killing the workers, slaves and such, he ate them, usually while they were still alive. What distrubed everyone was that he didn't care WHO he ate. Slig, mud, glukk, etc it didn't matter to him. Through rumors had it that he didn't like the taste of Big Bros, which made all the sligs in the complex wanting to become BBS's in a hurry. Spider this crossbreed was named, mainly for the specialized pants he wore, which instead of 2 or 4 legs, had 8 spider- like legs which give him greater speed and mobility. The name also suited him because he loved to ambush and to set traps for his victims.
The small slig group paused at a junction, sniffing the air nerviously. They were sent to find Spider, to discover his hiding place, his 'lair' so they could finally catch him. They knew the odds of all of them surviving an encounter with him was pretty low.
"What yer say the creep looks like again?" one of the Sligs asked.
"Looks like and as big as a Big Bro for the most part, only with quills along his back, dark green in color, and yeller eyes. Also wearing those specialized pants they told us 'bout" the second slig answered.
"So..what der we do if we der meet up with 'em?" the first said with a shudder.
"Easy, we run like hell..." the third said.
"He would catch us before we could make it to the end of the corridor." the second said, "that's why they gave us this.." he held up a small black box that had a single button on it.
"And that is?" the first asked.
"It's a control box, it will activate the inhibitor that is implanted on 'em when I press this button, giving us more time to escape."
The third slig, who was facing one of the dark corridors leading away from the junction, suddenly went very pale. "Um...I think yer better press it now..." he said, his voice trembling.
"Huh? Wh.....AAAHHHHH" was all the first could get out before, something lefted him up and bit deeply into his shoulder. He felt his flesh literaly being biten and toren off him, he screamed in horrible pain. The pain was so paralizing that he couldn't move to push the button on the control box.
The other two sligs, watched paralized with fright as they watched their companion being eaten alive by Spider. After a moment they were able to find their legs and they both bolted down the corridor, with the screams of their friend echoing behind them...
All they found when they returned with a sizable group a bit later, was the skeleton of their companion, and a smashed control box..
