Oddworld has brought us such vividly imaginitive and abstract characters, and then we're presented with this guy. Any idiot can create something that greatly resembles an Earth creature ... but that's not what Oddworld's known for in my opinion. I mean, can you compair an...Elum to another Earth creature? A Scrab? A Paramite? Abe or Munch? A SLIG?! NO! Because those were completely origonal! We can't assocoiate them with anything that exists here! But I take one look at this Fangus Klot person, and I go "Oh, a cougar. Great."

...although I must confess I've never seen a picture of this "Fangus" bloke (can't get them to load, for some reason, then gave up anyway), I'm going to echo what Matt said. It was precisely the surreality of the Oddworld creatures that attracted me to OW in the first place - Glukkon, Sligs and Scrabs in particular, as they were SO inhuman and unearthly, and I'd love to be able to create species like that to populate my own galaxy (as it stands, most of my creations turned out as very dull humanoids). Newts with boobs (all right, evolved fish, but they LOOK like newts) I can forgive, as I'm biased in my pre-existing like of amphibians, and the Hickens looked vaguely Mudokon-like so they kept with the canon, but... I'm dismayed by the description of a cougar. Is Oddworld going furry? :P
