Raisin, I am Catholic. And where did I say his death would affect my religion? If you're talking about the impact his death will have, I was talking on gloabl terms, not religious. The guy was well-liked.
As for what the guy did, he changed the idea of solemn, closed-minded Christian attitude to the accepting and all encompassing Catholic we know today (sarcasm). Seriously though, he put a much more liberal spin on the religion by tolerating other cultures and religions instead of shunning or slandering them. Plus he was a nice guy. Just like Jesus.
