Im glad you see my point now, and with character customisation should come competition. Making your own character is pride boosting enough, but when it beats up others, or works together with others, its just so much funner.
It would make an interesting game in my eyes, especially with the diversity and creativity of all the oddworld races.
Imagine a Gabbit archer which uses its foot and arms to hold the bow, and fires with its mouth, slow to reload but a strong and precise shot
