I think it changes into a profile name on a game save file. At least that's how I think mine got the name Godless.

You can rename your Xbox just play time trial mode DOA3 and when you have to enter a name enter what you want your xbox name to be walla.

Alpha had it right. It only works with DOA3 and a few other games. Mine is "Ninja". It's the default, and I probobly should change it.
