I wonder where this leaves my Xbox. My Xbox was purchased on release, so it is very likely affected by the problem. Although being in Australia, will Microsoft recognize that I have a US Xbox?

when you order the cord, you put in the serial number thingy on the bottom of the Xbox, which determines if your Xbox is in danger of poofing, or if your Xbox is, indeed, a U.S. model. If your's is a U.S. model, I'm sure they'll send you some.

I literally got mine 2 days after I ordered. THEM MICROSOFTS IS FAST


EDIT: although, what Max's cord situation shows, is that it's not guaranteed to work.
