I think that's a little too high of an age standard though; I'd say 14 is better since that's at least when high school starts here. That's when my first and only real relationship began, anyway; I turned 17 merely a few weeks ago, and it's still going. On the other hand, I do admit I was still pretty immature at the beginning... So maybe you're right and I'm just a special case.  |
Ah, no, I should have worded that better. I believe it's possible to have a healthy, enjoyable relationship at that age, I just don't think it should be called dating, since most of it is restricted purely to the school environment, i.e. holding hands walking to math class, making out in the hallways, etc. Believe me, I had my fair share of junior high relationships, and I think it's good for personal development, but the name "dating" is misleading. I mean, if neither of the two can drive..."dating"?
But yeah - age 14 relationships = valid in some cases, but not
dating to me. I'm just weird like that.
