Regardless of the formula, I don't think OWI were going to make a sequel to MO right then no matter what. Lorne was heartbroken over the failure of the game to tell the full story, and felt like Abe and Munch were so involving (emotionally) that a break from such an important story would be good for him, the company, and via trickle-down effect, the gamers.
All I'm saying is that MO was popular, and if OWI is true to form, it will get a proper sequel (like all Quintology games) just not yet.
